Heather maintains an active flute studio in the Central Texas region. She teaches privately in Manor ISD, Round Rock ISD and Austin ISD, and is a Teaching Artist with Austin Soundwaves. Heather enjoys teaching in one-on-one, sectional, and masterclass settings.

“Teaching is a way for me to express what I have gained from my own education, and I always find myself learning from the way students understand information.  As a teacher, it is my goal to help students achieve the mindset and skills needed to strengthen their independence, artistry, and capabilities.  Each student will learn how to effectively lead their personal practice, work through appropriate and challenging repertoire, and gain the motivation and discipline needed to succeed in their studies.  I aim to provide highly individualized teaching, and will work to discover the specific strengths, weaknesses, and needs of each of my students.  Ultimately, I want my studio to feel prepared, confident, and eager to explore the life-long journey of playing the flute.”
